How to View and Edit AVI MetadataAVI video files can have metadata (or "tags") embedded in them, in conformance with the format standard. AVI is an extensible file format, and there are several possible metadata formats for it, including native INFO list chunk and XMP. (Extensible Metadata Platform) These metadata types can contain a large number of various metadata elements, such as title, description, creator, keywords, and date. AVI files can hold any number of metadata formats concurrently. Windows® 11 has a very limited built-in embedded properties viewer and editor that can be accessed by right-clicking on any file, selecting "Properties" from the context menu, and then navigating to the "Details" tab. In AVI files, It can only show a small number of INFO properties. However, it's possible to edit INFO and XMP metadata in AVI with an appropriate third-party software that has been designed for this purpose. MetadataTouch™ is a multi-format metadata editor for Windows®, that, among its capabilities, can edit INFO and XMP metadata in AVI files. It can do so one file at a time, and its Professional Edition can also do so in a group of files in batch. It's an offline desktop application that has a simple and straightforward graphical user interface,(GUI) with an integral file explorer, making it ideal for easily editing metadata. MetadataTouch™ supports only classic AVI files. It does not supports AVI with OpenDML extensions. OpenDML extensions are required for AVI files larger than 2GB, but may be used for smaller files as well. |
